Shawn McEachern is a retired American professional ice hockey left winger who played over 900 NHL games for several teams including the Atlanta Thrashers. Born February 28, 1969, in Waltham, Massachusetts, McEachern was drafted 110th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1987 and had a 13-year NHL career spanning the Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, and Atlanta Thrashers. He served as captain of the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2003-04 season, leading the team to a second-place finish in the Southeast Division with 55 points in 82 games. McEachern won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 1992 and scored over 30 goals in two different NHL seasons. After retiring in 2006, he became a hockey coach and is currently head coach of the men's hockey program at Suffolk University in Boston.
