Jed Ortmeyer is the Director of Player Development for the New York Rangers, a role he has held since 2017. Born September 3, 1978, in Omaha, Nebraska, Ortmeyer is a former professional ice hockey winger who played nearly 750 games in the NHL and AHL with teams such as the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, San Jose Sharks, and Minnesota Wild. After a successful playing career, Ortmeyer shifted to player development, where he focuses on helping Rangers prospects and young players progress their skills and adjust to professional hockey. He is well-regarded for his experience, having also been part of the Omaha Lancers' Clark Cup championship team and inducted into the Omaha Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015. Ortmeyer is known for his hands-on approach in mentoring players and building a strong path to NHL readiness.
