Hal Gill is a retired American professional ice hockey defenseman who played 16 NHL seasons with six teams, including the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, and Philadelphia Flyers. Born April 6, 1975, in Concord, Massachusetts, Gill is known for his imposing size (6 ft 7 in) and physical defensive play. He won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009. After retiring from playing in 2015, he served as the manager of player development for the Florida Panthers and transitioned into coaching at the high school level. Today, Hal Gill is a radio color commentator for the Nashville Predators on the Predators Radio Network and also serves as CFO at Haist Designs.
