Freddy Meyer is a former professional ice hockey defenseman who played seven seasons in the NHL with teams including the Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, and Atlanta Thrashers. Born January 4, 1981, in Sanbornville, New Hampshire, Meyer was known as a mobile two-way defenseman with a solid outlet pass and physical play. After retiring from playing in 2012, he transitioned into coaching and is currently the head coach for the East Coast Wizards in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). He also coaches at The Rivers School (ISL) in Weston, Massachusetts. Meyer played collegiate hockey at Boston University, earning All-American honors before starting his professional career.
